Uncle MythMan says ...

This is a continued comment that started on jdubhub's "Better Bailout-Plan `Blurb:

A long time ago, there was this street that ended at a wall near the docks in New York. There came into dock a boat whose passengers were selling tulips, starting at 10¢-per; I say 'starting at' because some 'entrepreneurs' saw the people selling tulips at 10¢-per and said to themselves, "Hmm, I bet I could turn around and sell them for 15¢-per."

And so they went and did, and other 'entrepreneurs' saw them and thought, "I bet I could buy some and turn and get 16¢-per." And they did ... and on-and-on it went, "19¢-per," "25¢-per," "50¢-per," etc., until the tulips were selling for dollars-a-piece.

All of a sudden, people lost interest in tulips; and the 'entrepreneurs' were left with tulips bought for hundred of dollars---tulips now worth dozens of pennies.

And the street where the tulips first came in (in case you haven't figured by now) is Wall Street.

And the Moral of the Story

'Never buy with the hope of selling' ... of course, that's just my interpretation; what's yours?
